I am medically and psychologically disabled, but there are times when my case worker isn't available and when public transit isn't enough to get me where I need to be. I very rarely drive, since it's painful and anxiety-inducing, but sometimes I have to. I was expecting a free replacement of my recently flattened tire, but I couldn't find my replacement plan paperwork and the tire shop couldn't find a record of it. In addition, another tire was about to go, as was a tie rod, and of course with all that work the car needed an alignment, so I had to spend a lot of money I don't have. There are a lot of expenses I don't have the money to cover, but this is the most recent one and taking care of that would be really helpful. It's taking space on a credit card, which is how I've been paying rent. (I haven't gotten into low-income housing and don't yet have Disability Insurance, just a medical declaration that I'm disabled.) |
